What We Do
One shop. The whole job.
Leatherwood machines, forms, welds, assembles, and inspects in one 42,600 square foot facility. We do not subcontract core work. Raw stock comes in, finished and inspected parts go out, and one team is accountable for everything in between.
From a single tight-tolerance component to a production run of assemblies, we have the equipment, the certifications, and the people to do the job. A full equipment list is available on request.
Capacity
The shop you are sending it to.
The shop behind the quote matters more than any machine list. Here is ours.
The quality system
AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015, audited by an independent registrar. First article, in-process, and final inspection, with documentation on every job. The checks run the same whether anyone is watching or not.
The crew
Forty years of parts made at the same address by people who stayed. Machinists, welders, and inspectors here measure their time in decades. The hands that held your tolerances in 1996 still hold them today.
The response
Call and a person answers. Someone who knows the work reads your drawing, tells you whether the job fits, and tells you what we need to quote it. Customers have reordered tooling and parts here by number for decades.
The room
42,600 square feet with open capacity, and a company investing in more. When your program grows, we have room to grow with it.

Since 1986
Built by hand.
Mike Leatherwood served in the United States Air Force, then spent years building tooling and parts for aircraft. On February 1, 1986, he founded this company in North Charleston and built it with his family. The signature in our logo is his own hand.
Forty years later, Leatherwood is a veteran-owned family business at the same address, still answering the phone and still making parts to print.
